Weekender bags for women

A woman's guide to weekend travel
After starting a long distance relationship about this time last year, I've managed to spend significant amount of time traveling cross country.  And besides learning the ins and outs of Priceline.com, I've also learned that having a weekend sized travel bag is a huge  advantage for those two or three day trips.  A weekender bag is typically much smaller that your normal roll-aboard luggage.  They are typically not rigid, so they're not great for storing things that you don't want to get wrinkled.  But the size and flexibility of the bag allows for easy storage of all the necessities.  It's also a breeze to get it in a small overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you.  Many weekender bags for women also come with inside and outside pockets for easy access while traveling. It's also great to be able to walk out of the airport and toss my bag into the backseat of my boyfriend's car and get going.

So many options...
Of course there are literally hundreds of fabric and color options.  Because I tend to use mine so much for airline travel, I went with a canvas material.  I saw no point in splurging on a nice leather bag that the TSA and other people's luggage would just continuously scuff.  Many of the canvas style bags come with a protective layer that helps reduce accumulation of dirt and stains.

Handles and straps
Many weekender bags come with an option for either handles or a cross body strap.  I find that the cross body strap is very helpful in those situations where you're having to bolt from one gate to the next to make that connecting flight.  Thank you Priceline!!

Other Uses
I even find myself using an older weekender bag for the gym.  It has seen better days, but who cares when you're just going to be stuffing dirty gym clothes and towels in there anyway.  So for any of you ladies trudging that roll aboard or even full-sized luggage around, lighten your load and try out a weekend bag!
